Yi (Jason) Hua is a postdoctoral fellow in the Laboratory of Ocular Biomechanics at the University of Pittsburgh with Prof. Ian A. Sigal. His current research aims to elucidate the mechanisms underlying hemodynamic abnormalities in glaucoma and devise a way to mitigate retinal ganglion cell damage and the consequent blindness. From 2011-2016, Jason was a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with Prof. Linxia Gu. He studied the role of biomechanics in traumatic brain injury and how this might vary depending on the brain vasculature. Jason’s career goal is to become an independent researcher studying biomechanically related disorders of the central nervous system, such as glaucoma and traumatic brain injury.
