Ye Sun, MD, PhD, is an Instructor of Ophthalmology at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Sun completed her PhD in Molecular Biology at Jilin University in China and completed her postdoctoral training at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Sun’s research interests focus on the understanding the roles of neuroinflammation, immune-vascular crosstalk, and neurovascular interaction in the development of eye disorders (including AMD, retinopathy of prematurity, and diabetic retinopathy) using genetically modified mice combined with disease mouse models and developing effective ways to treat or prevent vision loss. In particular, her recent research focuses on the mechanisms of immune-vascular crosstalk to identify the root causes of neovascularization, aimed at developing therapeutic treatments for wet AMD.
