Dr. Wilfried Rossoll is an Associate Professor of Neuroscience in the Department of Neuroscience at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He received his PhD in Genetics from the University of Vienna, Austria. In 2017, he moved from the Department of Cell Biology at Emory University to Mayo Clinic, to establish the Neurobiology of Neurodegenerative Diseases Laboratory. His research is focused on molecular disease mechanisms and therapeutic strategies for neurodegenerative diseases such as spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), frontotemporal dementia (FTD), and Alzheimer's disease (AD).
