Shuo Wang, PhD, is a postdoctoral associate in the Huffington Center on Aging at Baylor College of Medicine, working in the laboratory of Dr. Hui Zheng. Shuo Wang earned her PhD from the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. There, Dr. Wang’s research focused on autism spectrum disorders and therapeutic strategies against Zika Virus infection and associated microcephaly in mouse models. These experiences equipped her with solid technical skills and strong interest in neurological disease research. Now, Dr. Wang is pursuing the training on neurodegenerative diseases from Dr. Hui Zheng’s lab to work on an exciting lysosome-to-nucleus signaling pathway in Alzheimer’s disease. This work will reveal novel disease mechanisms and help open new avenues for AD therapeutic intervention.
