Michael Miller, MD, PhD

Michael Miller grew up in Gambier, Ohio, and studied at Grinnell College, where he majored in Biological Chemistry and Spanish. He then spent a year at the National Institutes of Health as an IRTA fellow at the NIH studying genetic imprinting with Karl Pfeifer. Mike earned his M.D., PhD at the Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine, where he performed his thesis research in Biochemistry with Surachai Supattapone, focusing on the mechanisms of formation and propagation of infectious mammalian prions. Mike completed residency in Anatomic Pathology and clinical fellowship in Neuropathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital. Mike is now Associate Pathologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Instructor at Harvard Medical School, and postdoctoral fellow at Boston Children’s Hospital in the Christopher Walsh laboratory, where he is studying the mechanisms of somatic mutation in neurological disease.
