I was studying optic nerve regeneration when I was a graduate student at University of Hong Kong. Then, I joined Schepens Eye Research Institute as a post-doctoral fellow. Since then, I have investigated the underlying mechanisms of optic nerve regeneration and retinal degenerative diseases such as glaucoma. Currently, my research is mainly focused on the role of immune responses in the pathogenesis of glaucoma.
