Dorota Skowronska-Krawczyk is a biochemist and molecular biologist. Her credentials include an MSc in Biology from the University of Warsaw, Poland, a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Geneva, Switzerland focusing on the molecular basis of retinal development, and two post-doctoral fellowships at the Jules Gonin Ophthalmic Hospital in Lausanne, Switzerland and at UC San Diego. She recently joined University of California Irvine as an Assistant Professor at Departments of Physiology and Biophysics, and Ophthalmology and member of the Center for Translational Vision Research at UCI School of Medicine. The focus of her research is to understand the molecular mechanism of aging by studying the processes regulating age-related eye diseases, with an emphasis on coordinated changes in cellular, metabolic and transcriptional programs. She published a number of publications in high impact factor journals and her research is funded by several foundations’ grants and NIH.
