Biography
Dr. Moutinho first engaged in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) research during his PharmD training at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon, Portugal, which stimulated my interest in the study of neurodegenerative diseases as well as the development of novel therapeutic strategies for these disorders. During his PhD, he studied the regulation of brain cholesterol metabolism and how it affects neuronal function and development under the supervision of Dr. Elsa Rodrigues and Dr. Cecília Rodrigues. Dr. Moutinho received his PhD in 2016 from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon, Portugal. He started his postdoctoral training in 2016 under the mentorship of Dr. Gary E Landreth initially at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, and currently at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana.
