Dr. Yong-Su Kwon is a postdoctoral research associate in Dr. Zongchao Han's Lab in the Department of Ophthalmology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Kwon received his doctoral degree in Biomedical Sciences at CHA University, South Korea, and has worked in an exciting research area at the boundary between various fields of material chemistry, biology, and medicine to produce results that can be used for basic scientific research and clinical application, which has led to several conference, patent, and journal papers. His research has particularly been focused on the nanosized materials and impacting multidisciplinary areas of science and technology from material to life sciences. His research interest is to develop advanced nanoformulations for effective therapeutic interventions as translational research for the treatment of various diseases that are challenged by current standard approaches. Dr. Kwon has been studying for the development of new innovative nanotechnology-based therapeutic strategies for various ocular disorders since he joined the department of UNC ophthalmology in 2019 as postdoctoral researcher. Based on his research experience in various topics, he is currently concentrating on developing new therapeutic approaches that can improve pathological damage of AMD through good flexibility and creative ideas.
