Seonil Kim, PhD

I received my B.S. in Life Sciences from Chung-Ang University in Korea, my M.S. in Cellular Biology from University of Georgia, and my Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from New York University, where I studied how endocytosis was affected in Alzheimer’s disease. My postdoctoral research in New York University Medical Center focused on how synapses maintained their activity in various conditions. I joined Colorado State University in 2016 as an Assistant Professor. Current research focuses on physiological, cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying activity-dependent, long-lasting changes in neuronal function, and whether these mechanisms play a role in complex behaviors. I have been named a Boettcher Investigator since 2019.
