Martin J. Dahl, PhD

Dr. Martin J. Dahl is a distinguished research scientist specializing in the cognitive neuroscience of aging. Holding a PhD in Psychology from Freie Universität Berlin, he explores lifespan changes in neuromodulatory systems and their implications for neurodegenerative diseases. In his research, Dr. Dahl employs a diverse array of neuroscientific methods, including M/EEG, MRI, and eye tracking, coupled with longitudinal cognitive assessments. His research has garnered international recognition, including the prestigious Otto Hahn Medal from the Max Planck Society and the esteemed Margret and Paul Baltes Award. Currently, as the leader of the Lifespan Neuromodulation group at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Dr. Dahl collaborates closely with Dr. Mara Mather at the University of Southern California, advancing our understanding of cognitive aging and brain health.
