Northwestern University
Evanston, IL

Dr. Yan is an Assistant Professor of Neurology in the USC Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute and Department of Neurology, at the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine. Dr. Yan received her PhD in 2010 from the Beijing MRI Center for Brain Research at the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Before she joined USC as an assistant professor in 2016, she worked as an assistant researcher for three years at UCLA (2013-2016) after finishing three-year postdoctoral training (2010-2013) at UCLA. Dr. Yan's research interest focuses on the development of novel MRI techniques and clinical translations in noninvasive cerebral vascular and perfusion imaging. She is in particular interested in cerebrovascular studies in stroke, Alzheimer's disease, and other cerebrovascular disorders. Over the past few years, she has developed several novel MRI techniques in imaging the cerebrovascular system including non-contrast enhanced time-resolved 4-dimensional MR angiography, in vivo cerebral blood volume mapping, and cerebral vascular compliance. In 2014, Dr. Yan was awarded Junior Fellow by ISMRM. In 2019, she received Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles Young Investigators Award.
