Larissa Traxler, PhD

University of Innsbruck
Innsbruck, Austria

Dr. Traxler is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Innsbruck in Austria. She obtained her doctoral studies in the Neural Aging Laboratory in Innsbruck, led by Dr. Jerome Mertens, where she identified PKM as a major regulator of the metabolic switch in Alzheimer neurons leading to hypomature neurons. She then continued as a postdoctoral researcher in the laboratory to enhance the understanding of metabolic regulation of cell fate in the nervous system. Her research is based on an in-vitro model systems of patient-derived fibroblasts directly converted to neurons, and focuses on metabolism as a driver of cell fate using an multi-omics approach.
