Joshna Gadhavi, PhD

Emory University
Atlanta, GA

Dr. Joshna Gadhavi is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Biochemistry, Emory University. After completing her master's degree in biotechnology, Dr. Gadhavi pursued PhD training in biological engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology in Gandhinagar, India. During her PhD, she worked on the post-translational modifications of amyloid proteins and peptides, the characterization of post-translationally modified peptides by various biophysical studies. She expanded her expertise in developing various protocols such as recombinant protein expression, peptide synthesis, Wild-type proteins and peptides, and PTM modified peptides and proteins characterization by MALDI-TOF and LC-MS. She also acquired cell culture skills, such as neuronal cell culture models development and high throughput screening assays. Currently, as part of her postdoctoral training, she is working on exploring the molecular mechanism towards assessing the impact of blood brain barrier dysfunction on CSF tau levels in Alzheimer’s disease.
