Dr. Davide Balos Cappon, MS, PhD, is a principal investigator and clinician-scientist at the Hinda and Arthur Marcus Institute for Aging Research. He is also an assistant professor of neurology at Harvard Medical School and a practicing clinical neuropsychology and dementia specialist, directing the Neuropsychology Services at the Deanna and Sidney Wolk Center for Memory Health at Hebrew SeniorLife. Dr. Cappon has been engaged in translational research at Harvard Medical School since 2018, where he completed fellowships in neuromodulation in dementia at the Berenson Allen Center-Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and in geriatric neuropsychiatry at the Marcus Institute for Aging Research at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center. Dr. Cappon has a multidisciplinary background with expertise in clinical translational research involving device-based brain stimulation techniques. He conducted numerous studies examining the mechanisms, safety, and efficacy of these novel therapeutic approaches in aging and neurodegenerative diseases. His research integrates neurocognitive and neuropsychiatric assessments with advanced brain imaging, neurostimulation, and signal-processing techniques. A recent focus of Dr. Cappon’s research is making precise symptom-specific circuit-based neuromodulation therapy more accessible. He has developed novel methods and procedures for the safe, remotely monitored, multi-channel application of transcranial electrical stimulation to older adults in their homes.
