Carol Toris, PhD

Dr. Toris is a Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Nebraska Medical Center where she has worked in the area of eye pressure, fluid circulation and glaucoma for over 3 decades. She has studied many aspects of aqueous humor dynamics in healthy humans and patients with high eye pressure. This work has been done in collaboration with researchers around the world. She also has studied numerous animal species to understand their visual needs and how they differ from humans. Her work has led to better understanding of glaucoma and development of numerous therapeutic approaches, some of which are now approved for use in humans.
