Behzad Gerami-Naini is an assistant professor at the School of Dental Medicine at Tufts University. He received his PhD in endocrinology-reproductive physiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with the emphasis on human cells differentiation to study the effects of cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions in two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) in vitro cell culture systems. He completed his postdoctoral training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center-Harvard Medical School (BIDMC-HMS) and at Brigham and Women’s Hospital-Harvard Medical School (BWH-HMS) at SysCODE (Systems-based Consortium for Organ Design and Engineering) in Boston. Dr. Gerami-Naini focuses on implementing cell biology and bioengineering approaches in a 3D in vitro model for skin and retinal pigmented epithelium (RPE) regeneration.
